The septum is a structure made of cartilage anteriorly and bone posteriorly separating two nasal cavities from each other. 1/3 of the middle nasal vault is made up of the septal dorsum. This structure may be deviated in the form of S or directly to one side. In the case where this deviation appears on the dorsum of the septum, the nose looks deviated also. Septum deviation blocs breathing. Septoplasty is the name of the functional operation which fixes inside of the nose. This whole operation is called septorhinoplasty.
