Rhinoplasty is an operation to change the shape of the nose. The shape of the bone and the cartilages with the overlying skin determines the basic features of the nose. There is no perfect shape to the nose, there is a perfect shape specific to each person. It is important for patients to understand this fact.
Sometimes the wall that separates the nostrils (nasal septum) is twisted and needs to be corrected at the same time. This combined operation is called septorhinoplasty. We should never forget that breathing well is highly precious for the quality of life.
