Thin skin contains a thin subcutaneous fatty tissue layer. Even a small surgical procedure in thin skin rhinoplasty shows significant visible change on the nose. Postoperative edema and swellings are seen less. However, thin skins show all the asymmetries and irregularities of the bone and cartilage tissues underneath the skin. To scatter sliced or pressed cartilages underneath the skin helps to make an artificial thickness and hides some imperfections in rhinoplasty.
