Rhinoplasty and breathing

Rhinoplasty is surgery on the nose to change its shape. However, this nose job should not cause any functional problems like a nasal blockage. Cartilage and bony dorsum of the nose is the roof of the internal breathing pathways as well. To lower and narrow the dorsum causes breathing problems.  The tip of the nose is the door for the entrance of air. To take away the cartilages of the tip excessively and to weaken the supportive tissue of the tip droops the tip and weakens the elasticity of the nostrils. Hence, the entrance of air diminishes. To perform a nose job respecting the framework and supportive tissue of the nose should always be our guide in rhinoplasty.
